This bar tie is perfectly symmetrical, and allows very fine adjustment of how tight it is; but it is slower than methods that avoid splitting the ends of the rope.

Center the bight; split the ropes and wrap out to the edges. Finish each end with a half-hitch around just one side of the cuff.
